در فلومتر ورتکس یوکوگاوا ( yokogawa ) یک مانع باعث ایجاد جریان های گردابی می شود و جریان های گردابی ضربان هایی را در سیال ایجاد می کنند. این ضربا ن ها با استفاده از یک سلول پیزو الکترونیک حس می شود. فرکانس پالسها با سرعت سیال متناسب می باشد. مزایای این فلومتر دقت بالا , استهلاک کم به دلیل عدم وجود قسمت های متحرک می باشد.
